Agraria.org was born in 2000 from an idea of Marco Salvaterra, teacher at the Agricultural Technical Institute of Florence. The aim was to test new technologies applied to teaching in the field. The material initially published was that produced in the various years of teaching; little by little the site has been enlarged, thanks to the help of some colleagues of the Institute. Over the years, experts and university researchers and experts from various sectors have also given their precious help.

To all intents and purposes, it is configured as a catalog of farms, to which a real virtual showcase is made available free of charge with which to promote the direct sale of their products. Several thousand companies have already registered and several dozen thousands of monthly visitors.

Professioni.agraria.org was born in 2010 with the aim of gathering professionals working in the agricultural and forestry sector in a web catalog, giving them greater visibility on the net. The service is completely free and allows insertion in the database of veterinarians, agronomists, agro-technicians and agricultural experts from all over Italy. In addition to those who are registered in a register, other operators have also been given the opportunity to be included in the catalog, given the importance they have in the sector (pruners, gardeners, etc.).

LWebsite association was established in 2013 by a group of young graduates in Agriculture, Forestry and Veterinary Sciences. The aim is to spread knowledge about agricultural and agro-food practices for both amateur and professional purposes, to encourage the insertion of recent graduates and graduates in the agricultural sector and the growth of farms managed by young farmers. The association is non-profit, independent, non-denominational, non-partisan and pursues exclusively the aim of social solidarity.
